Steve Li

Steve is from the Peoples Republic of China, where he is a part-time Vice-Manager of a prominent advertising agency, while recently completing his MA in Communications and Mass Media Management at Zhejiang University. He has already started on his Doctoral program in literature and media culture. He has been a creative director, editor, copywriter and teacher of advertising copywriting during his studies, while amassing the highest awards and scholarships for his academics. His referees described him as ambitious, aggressive and a workaholic. He has always worked in industry while studying, and nevertheless placed at the very top of his college and province. Steve is presently writing teaching material on Mass Media and Societal Development with his professor. He has written ten papers on international branding strategies, covering brands such as Levi's, Volkswagen, Smirnoff and Budweiser, published widely in professional journals, and has co-authored a book on Brand Building. In May, he will publish a further book on Anti-rational Brand Building. Steve believes that the business and political worlds are ignoring the impact of aging populations on the lifestyle and governance issues of society.

“Leaders must dream of changing the world.

They must have an inspired vision of the changes they want to make and be prepared to consecrate all
their energy to that purpose. A capacity to communicate their objectives is indispensable to sustain
the enthusiasm of their collaborators and their perseverance in action.”
— The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, Opening Speech to the National Conference for Young Leaders, June 2-8, 1991
