Sergey Tantushyan (2008 - 2009)

Sergey was born on December 20th, 1981 in Yerevan, Armenia. He holds a Master of Sciences in Economics degree from Yerevan State University, major in Banking and Finance; a Masters in Comparative Legal Studies from the American University of Armenia, and received his Doctorate in Finance and Economics from the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia in 2007. He is also an alumnus of the Eurasia Executive Leadership Program (2008), University of Cambridge, U.K. and, as a 2006 Fulbright Fellow, he pursued studies in Strategic Development and Global Economy at Dickinson College, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Additionally, Sergey is an alumnus (2005) of the International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences (ISISCS), Italy, and the Methodological School of Shedrovitskiy, Moscow. Sergey taught for three years at Yerevan State University, the American University of Armenia and the Financial Banking College. He has worked at the Central Bank of Armenia, as an expert at the OSCE office in Yerevan, and as an independent economic researcher. His private sector experience includes positions as general manager of the Mercedes Benz distributor in Armenia and business manager of the Hovnanyan group of companies, as well as management positions in investment and consulting companies in St-Petersburg, Russia from 2005 to 2008. Prior to becoming a Sauvé Scholar and Academic trainee at McGill University, Sergey headed the Strategy Development Division of AmeriaBank in Yerevan (an affiliate of Troika Dialog, a renowned Russian investment company).
Sergey, whose son Alexander was born in March, has just started a new management position with a major magazine in Armenia.
