In-Hyeok Hwang

In-Hyeok is a journalist with Maeil Business Newspaper, the most influential journal in Korea with a circulation of over one million. He has seen his input on economic reports adopted by the President and become national policy and has interviewed over 50 CEOs of multinational corporations. Four times he was awarded that Best Exclusive News Award for scoops that he achieved. He co-authored the "Knowledge for Action" report, the "Knowledge Revolution" report and "The New Intellectual", pieces that have influenced national direction. In-Hyeok is a graduate of Sung Kyun Kwan University with a Bachelor of Economics and has almost completed his credits at the Yonsei University Graduate School of Economics. He feels, and has experienced strongly, the links between a leadership voice in journalism and the effect on national policy. Complex issues of international trade imbalances, the role of superpowers, north-south tensions and armaments are some the issues he wants to develop positions on. He is passionate in his view that, "Journalism is about being the voice that contributes to the good of society."

“Leaders must dream of changing the world.

They must have an inspired vision of the changes they want to make and be prepared to consecrate all
their energy to that purpose. A capacity to communicate their objectives is indispensable to sustain
the enthusiasm of their collaborators and their perseverance in action.”
— The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, Opening Speech to the National Conference for Young Leaders, June 2-8, 1991
