Adam Sharon (2003 - 2004)

Following his participation in the Sauvé Scholar Program, Adam returned to Washington, DC and continuing working in journalism. He covered the 2004 U.S. presidential campaign, including the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, presidential debates and inauguration for Talk Radio News Service. In 2005, he produced “White House Chronicle” for PBS. Adam was responsible for the show’s production and all business facets of the show. While working in radio and television, Adam wrote book reviews for The Jerusalem Post newspaper.

Wanting to put his journalism skills to use in the political world, in 2006 Adam began working as a press secretary for Congressman Kendrick B. Meek, a member of the powerful House Committee on Ways and Means. In April 2008, he became Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for Congressman Meek.

In 2006, Adam traveled to Germany and Belgium to participate as a Fellow in the annual Manfred Wörner Seminar where 30 young Americans and Germans meet to examine security policy and discuss security interests. In May 2008, he joined a delegation of U.S. Congressional staff members on a seven-day trip to South Korea, including a one-day visit to North Korea.

Adam is an adjunct lecturer at American University teaching in the Foreign Policy track of the Washington Semester program.

As a Sauvé Scholar, Adam led a seminar on the 2004 U.S. presidential elections and hosted a fellow Scholar during the 2004 Democratic Primary in New Hampshire, introducing him to presidential politics. While in the Program, Adam engaged in many dialogues with his peers about U.S. politics and the scholarship experience further helped Adam focus his career path on working professionally within the U.S. political and legislative system.

Adam is married to Abigail Sharon, and together they have a daughter, Eden. He lives in Washington, DC and can be reached at adam@picnet.net.
