Sauvé Scholars in Ottawa

By Andrew Sniderman (2010-11 Sauvé Scholar)

This March, the 2010-11 Sauvé Scholars had the opportunity to visit Ottawa, Canada's capital city. Not only did they discover Parliament and meet with several Members of Parliament, getting an up-close lesson in Canadian democracy (report here), but they also had the opportunity to meet directors of several key non-governmental organizations based in Ottawa.

“Leaders must dream of changing the world.

They must have an inspired vision of the changes they want to make and be prepared to consecrate all
their energy to that purpose. A capacity to communicate their objectives is indispensable to sustain
the enthusiasm of their collaborators and their perseverance in action.”
— The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, Opening Speech to the National Conference for Young Leaders, June 2-8, 1991
