THE SAUVE SCHOLARS FOUNDATION was established by the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation, under the direction of Jean-François Sauvé, son of the late Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, to implement its mission to develop the leadership potential of promising youth from around the world.
The Foundation has created and sponsors the Sauvé Scholars Program that each year invites up to 14 outstanding young leaders for a period of personal and professional development in a collegial, residential goenvironment.
Governance and Staff
The Sauvé Scholars Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors which establishes and oversees the implementation of the core values, guiding principles and policies of the Program. The Board oversees the administration of the Program, approves and supports initiatives proposed by the Executive Director and staff, and actively participates in the selection of the Scholars.
The Chairman of the Board of the Sauvé Scholars Foundation is Harold P. Gordon and the President is Jean-François Sauvé.
Other Directors are:
The Executive Director, Désirée M. McGraw, is responsible for the development of operational and policy proposals for approval by the Board; the day-to-day operations of the Scholars Program and Sauvé House; information and outreach to the local, national and international community, including alumni; relations with the Academic community, Advisors and Mentors; and professional guidance to the Scholars.
Louise Brunet Nelson assists the Executive Director in all aspects of the administration of Sauvé House and the day-to-day requirements of the Scholars.
